God Knows What You Need Without You Even Asking

September 23rd, 2018

I was in kind of a bad mood about an hour before church tonight. I was feeling a little lonely after scrolling through social media and seeing a lot of my friends having fun with their friends, while I am at home with no social life.

Five minutes before time for me to leave for church, I drug myself out of bed, walked out the door, and got into the car. When I got there, I got out of the car, still in a bad mood and tired too, and walked into church.

I’m so glad I went to church tonight.

While at church with the youth tonight, we played a game, praised God, and listened to the sermon. I stood there, swaying with my church friends as we sang “O Come To The Altar.”

I really needed that tonight, and the sermon too.

My youth pastor preached about idolatry and anxiety.

I was reminded by my youth pastor and God’s word, Matthew 6:19-24, that we must keep God number one in our lives always. Social media, family, friends, music, nothing can come before God in our lives. We must love God more than anything else.

Next, my youth pastor talked about anxiety when referring to Matthew 6:25-34. We must not worry about anything because worrying changes nothing. Do not worry about anything, for God will provide what we need and take care of us just as he does with the birds, flowers, and grass. Do not worry about what tomorrow brings, but live in today.

Now, I know that it's hard not to worry sometimes, I struggle with anxiety myself, but I encourage you to read and delve into Matthew 6:25-34 and just try to give your worries to God. I felt more at peace after doing that.

I also encourage y'all to go listen to the song, "Good Good Father."

I hope this helps some of y'all today.

I also wanted to give an update on my mom, we still don’t know what stage cancer she has yet. My mom is having a CT scan this Wednesday, September 26th to see if the cancer has spread or not. They might be able to tell what stage based off the CT scan. She is set to have surgery to remove the cancerous part of her colon on Wednesday, October 24th. She will be in the hospital two to five days after surgery. I am trying my best to just pray and trust God with this, even though its hard.

On the bright side of things, I did run into my best friend at the mall yesterday. It was the first time we’ve hung out outside of school in awhile. We both have very busy schedules sometimes. I had a good time with her. I’m also looking forward to Homecoming this week and dressing up for the spirit days.

Well I better go study for my U.S. History test, finish my other homework, and try to get a good night’s sleep. I hope everyone has a blessed week.
