We Need To Always Pray For Other Believers
February 3rd, 2019
Hey y'all, I hope everyone has had an awesome week.
So far, it has been a good year for me. The best thing that has happened this year for me was being in the Class Beauty pageant last week. I had fun being in a pageant with my friends and feeling beautiful on stage. I didn't win anything, but that's okay. I think it is something every girl should do at least one time.
I also enjoyed helping my close friend get ready for Miss Palmetto pageant the next night. She did a great job, especially for her first pageant.
Anyway, I wanted to share with y'all the sermon my pastor preached on this morning. We just started a series called, My Prayer For You. Today's message was about praying for other christians in our lives. We were in the book of Ephesians 1:15-23. I am going to share with you a prayer that you can pray for any christian in your life. We should always pray for other believers, in good times and bad times.
In verses 15 and 16, it tells the first way we can pray for other believers, by thanking God for those people he has brought into your life. I also encourage you to tell others that you are constantly praying for them and are thankful for them.
In verses 17-19, it tells the second way we can pray for other believers. In verse 17 it says, "may God give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better." The second way we can pray for other believers is to ask God to give them a deeper relationship with Jesus.
In verses 19-23, it tells the last way we can pray for other believers is to ask God to keep them focused on what they have in him. In verse 23, it says, "which in his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way." We have the fullness of God in us everyday, Jesus walks with us and strengthens us.
We should also pray specifically for these three things to other believers. We should pray that they see the hope to which he has called them, that they know they are treasured by God, and that they know the power of God that is available to us.
I also wanted to give y'all an update on my mom. My mom had her surgery and everything went well. The surgeon didn't see anything that surprised him and everything looked like he thought it would. They got the cancerous polyp out. They took some lymph nodes out, that were biopsied and it showed the cancer has not spread. The doctor also said that my mom does not have to have chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Praise the Lord. She is recovering well, but it is just going to take some time for her to heal. I'm thankful for all the thoughts and prayers that we have received. I'm also thankful for everyone that came to see her at the hospital and spent time with us as we anxiously waited for my mom to get out of surgery. If anyone is going through illness or struggles in your family right now, do not give up, keep praying because God is listening. He always hears your prayers, even when you do not think he is. He answers prayers.
I hope everyone has a blessed week.

This was a wonderful post. My preacher has preached a similar message like this one before. One thing that I really connected with was the part where you mentioned “Pray for other believers,” because I think that is a very special thing to do. I do it. Every night before I go to bed I always pray for the special people in my life like my family, friends and boyfriend. I pray for them to have a great day, a great week, keep them safe and let them know that I love them and appreciate them very much. That’s what Christians are supposed to do is pray for others. That’s why our bond with fellow Christians is so strong, because we understand what the Lord has done for us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Meri-Liv. Yes it is special to me too, but I feel it is something that is easily forgotten when times are good and you get busy. I feel like it is so important though, because we all need someone praying for us. What you said is so true. I am glad you enjoyed my post and I hope you like my next blog post that I post.
DeleteI really enjoyed your post! I love praying for my friends who are also Christians because Christians aren't perfect and still struggle. It is so important to pray that they fight to follow daily and I just love that you wrote about it. :) Can't wait for the next post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Erika. I love praying for my friends too, because it is true that we all have struggles. I am glad you liked my post.
DeletePraying used to be something I was always insecure about growing up because I hated speaking. When people would ask me to pray for them or even say the blessing before eating, I would get so nervous and anxious. Now, I love praying for people. I could pray for my family and friends for hours. Prayer really is so powerful. I love your posts so much, and I look forward to read your future ones as well! Also, that’s great news about your mom!
ReplyDeleteI still struggle with saying the blessing, because I get nervous and I do not know what to say. Prayer is powerful, especially when you pray together with others. Thank you Katelyn, I am glad you love my posts. It is great news about my mom, God is so good.
